3D METROLOGY

FARO laser SCAN ARM – ACCURACIES:
SCANNING = +/- .003” & PROBING = +/- .001”

STYL&TECH selected the FARO ScanArm after internal testing and rating of several 3D laser scanner technologies. We clearly established the highest performing combination of hardware and software once we developed better setup time-saving methods, dot cloud accuracy and faster inspection report processes by using the FARO and POLYWORKS software from INNOVMETRIC. Bidding against service providers, software developers and 3D scanner manufacturers, STYL&TECH was selected in several tenders in the transportation, aerospace and medical equipment sectors.

SURPHASER 25HSX – ACCURACY:
+/- .020” into 105’ sphere diameter

STYL&TECH wanted to decrease the time it took to provide accurate 3D scanning for huge parts or products. It took two years to evaluate several technologies to finally discover the SURPHASER. Now we offer same-day complete product and manufacturing plant 3D scanning services. With this technology, our clients can now modify their product or plant without tape measurement. The reconstruction time saved is estimated at 60%.

INSPECTION REPORT & FIXTURES

Based on the 2D drawing tolerances and 3D CAD data, STYL&TECH produces comprehensive spreadsheets or color-map reports. STYL&TECH can inspect parts, assemblies, jigs, products and manufacturing plants. Several companies from numerous industries, such as transportation, aerospace, medical, defense and electronic devices, use our 3D measurement capabilities and facilities.

STYL&TECH offers tooling fabrication services. Based on the 3D CAD data, we design and produce fixtures to constrain the part as required by the tolerances:

  • CNC fixtures for permanent measurement;
  • One time positioning fixtures.

REVERSE ENGINEERING

STYL&TECH uses reverse engineering in the process of taking clay models or finished products and reconstructing design data in compatible customer CAD format to fabricate new parts or tools. From our 3D scan data we build 3D surfaces in solid model and make a comparison report based on the differences between the 3D scan data and the new CAD model. Our clients recognize us as powerful Class A surface providers.
